Yea, collar didn't completely close...enough so to keep it from being a full blown off center strike...

Lubrication problem? Needs grease? What causes that?

Chase007, worth only one cent? I disagree with that. It's a keeper for me. I am not throwing it back into circulation. If you think I will let this go, I won't. I just like it too much to let it go.

E&V ,this was just a test, because in almost all your posts, you end it with exact sentence: worth only one cent or whatever the denomination is.... now I hope you realize it really doesn't matter what a coin is worth,it always has a value in the eyes of it's collector may not necessarily have a monetary value!

Is it a bad thing that I say it's worth one cent when it is exactly worth a cent because of MD, DDD, or just PMD? Do you not like what I say on other people's post? All I did was I said that there is no added value for it truth. If you don't like me, just say so. Anyway, I think this is a Stiff Collar error and not a Partial Collar error.

Thank you Coop! I knew you were going to comment on this. I had a feeling that it was a Partial Collar error in the first place. Worth a couple of bucks.

Okay, and here's the explanation from minterrownews.com [ https://minterrornews.com/priceguid...lcollar.html] with some rough prices: "Partial collar strikes occur when there is a malfunction of the striking press. This causes the collar to be in an incorrect position. The lower die (usually the reverse die) is recessed in the collar. This allows the coin which is going to be struck to have a formed rim. After a coin is struck the lower die raises upwards, pushing the struck coin out of the collar and ejecting it. If a blank entering the collar is not properly seated, it will only have partial reeding as it is struck. The edge of this coin will have a partial reeding and a partial blank surface area. Recently, the Mint has installed new machinery where either die can be installed in either position." Just FYI

Lol Mark! It took awhile, but I got a correct awnswer from Coop. My head was spinning back and forth on etheir a Partial Collar error or a Stiff Collar error. It's a Partial Collar. Stiff Collars are often confused with Partial Collar errors because of how similar they are. Now I have a 2007 Lincoln Cent with a Partial Collar, a 2016 Harper's Ferry Quarter with a Partial Collar, and a 2003 Lincoln Cent with a Stiff Collar error. Have you have anything good yet Mark?

Biedercoins, thank you for the good and accurate information. Mark, that's pretty cool that you found a Proof Nickle in circulation. I'll be excited to see your error coin post later. :)
