Not too familiar with this coin, just came across it through one of my boxes.

I noticed it had some nice details but also some worrying marks. Wondering if it may have been a cleaning job. It was amongst hundreds of other coins.

Appreciated feedback.

The overall color is just wrong. The most obvious sign is that the finer details such as in between the ferns, characters, rims etc which are much harder to clean still show signs of the original surface.

thanks gxseries.I guess it would be easier if I had one in hand so that I could tell the coloring is off. And I thought the stuff between the lines just showed where handling would not keep things from getting dirty. In other words, I saw that stuff and assumed that was natural given the way the coin would be handled.
I've got lots to learn.
