I bought this coin from a reputable dealer in my area. Just wanted opinions and general discussion about the coin. This is not my area of expertise but I liked the coin and trust the dealer. Looking to learn more. Thanks for looking!

I certainly don't see any red flags. Pillar dollars are far from my specialties, but I love learning more as ill want one for my pre-U.S. Set at some point. I really like their look.

Looks genuine. That die crack is a bit odd looking... probably just b/c it's a bit thicker than your usual crack. Did a quick run through auct. archives and only saw one other 1757 specimen with it - and amusingly, it was from the grouping Cayon offered with all kinds of fake counterstamps on mainly genuine host coins. That piece had the Mozambique MR stamp... whether that was a genuine stamp, "eh"... but the host was clearly genuine.

The tone is a bit strange - could just be the lighting, so no comment on the surfaces. There is some graffiti on the pillars side plus a few crusted spots.

Detail-wise, VFplus-ish... typical circ. Lima pieces never seem to come super worn.

Thanks for the input. Glad to hear you feel it is genuine. The picture of the reverse didn't capture the color accurately. It is the same color as the obverse.
