Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 09/26/2017 8:17 pm Cents are made from copper plated zinc plachets or blanks. The plating process doesn't always go very well and the result is the copper layer bubbles and cracks. So it didn't leave the mint looking like that. But time has taken its toll and the bubbles formed. It will continue to deteriorate. Report this Post to the Staff
