Would like the experts' opinions as to grade and condition of this raw Isabella Quarter. These are seller pics. Thanks!

It looks TOO clean.
I wouldn't touch it unless it was slabbed original.

Thanks, nfine and kanga.

That is sort of my thinking. This seller is a reputable one but guarantees "authenticity only". So, if it has had a harsh cleaning, I won't be able to tell (not good at seeing those things).

It looks nice in the picture, but I'm not familiar with how the fields should look on one of these coins.

Edited for terminology

Pass. There is nothing original-looking about this coin.
Rest in Peace

A very few of these have a proof like appearance with early strong strikes bringing better definition and flatter fields.

This could be one of those and might be the reason everyone is being thrown off by its look.

This is, at the bare minimum, a MS-65, and 66 is actually likely.

As such, even a crummy 65 sells for $1200.

Dipped, as this may be, would cut the value down to $400 with an Unc. Details.

If you can get the seller to agree to hold refund open until TPG opinion, it's worth an attempt, especially if it's under $400.

with moxking. This is a beauty and I wouldn't be surprised if it got MS-67 details. But I share your concern when it comes to color, it may be cleaned, or prooflike, or just badly photographed/photoshopped by the dealer. These coins do sell for a big premium in this condition. How much does he or she want for it? Any chance to have an expert/professional have look at it directly after you receive it, while having the right to return until done so within reasonable time?

Because of who the seller is, and they are known for photos that tend to show a better coin then it is, I would personally pass. This will go for $600 or probably more, simply because the seller has a strong following. General reports on the seller is that their photos do an excellent job of subduing issues.

Must agree. This coin has a stark look to it with no sense of age at all, at least from these pics.

I appreciate all the evaluations and advice. I think I will wait for a graded example. Thanks, CCF!

GSC - good Lord. Why didn't you just say that up front. Those guys are the worst Photoshop mavens on ebay. You can never trust their photos.

Personally ... I would stay well away from this coin. There is nothing original looking about it in the photographs. At a minimum way over-dipped or whizzed. The obverse photograph appears to shown something unusual coin on in the fields.

That ... coupled with GSC as the seller means any educated collector would stay miles away.

I had my suspicions. The coin was going cheap for a while. Haven't checked for a few days, but will certainly avoid it.

Saw a couple of nice examples at the NCNA show yesterday. Outside my budget for now anyway.
