I took a chance on ebay for this coin, hoping it was truly uncirculated. It was $17.75 Cdn total, which turned out to be a good bargain. I think it's at least an MS-62, but it surprised me with complete doubling of CANADA and the date.

Most of the marks around the eye and over the ear happened at the mint, not after. I believe you'll find it a lot on high grade ones.
Here's a 1940 with the same mint damage.

You get bag marks in mint bags, but you also get them post issue, when they are bagged by the retail banks.

One of the main factors that contribute to circulation wear.
I see the numerous marks like the rest of us, but
like the rest of us, I find it difficult to actually find visible WEAR.

Those also can be marks of weakly struck coins, where there is not enough metal to flow into the deepest part of the design in the die. Sat through a good symposium talk on it last year. I'm talking about the "marks", not the doubling.

Higher grade Pre 1943 George vi nickels are so underrated in my opinion, nice to see others like them as well :) awesome coin.
