This weighs 2.4 grams and the diameter is about 17 millimeters.

It appears to be a 1 real, heavily worn, but I cannot get a specific attribution-catalogue #, country/ year (may be 1696 based on the 96 below "PLVS VL"

If anyone can narrow this down, it would be much appreciated.

Less important information would be a fair retail price for this item.

Yes and yes - only two possible options for this style

Looks like 1696 Potosi. $50-100 range.

Thanks. Something identical seems to be posted on vcoins and they are saying Lima. So I am definitely confused. Do you have a catalogue reference?

You're right oriole. L for Lima in lower right corner, H in the lower left for Hurtado. I was fooled by what looked like a P in the upper right corner.

Compare Sedwick's 1697 2R Lot 808 from Auction 21. Also compare Lot 821 for pricing of 4 Lima 1R's from the same period and condition. They realized $225, or $50-60 range per cob.
