Well, this is pretty cool if my previous post wasn't cool enough for you. (nightmare before striking) I think the zinc plantchet was damaged by the finger finder maybe? Or maybe somewhere in the upsetting mill. The marks are incluce, and yes I saw the die crack going through the C in cent. Enjoy the unusual find. And no it's not damaged after the minting process. Found this searching in rolls. It's got misaligned die strike as well just to make it's appearance more interesting! Thank you mint ;)

The lines on the obverse are definitely incuse so, not Feeder Finger gouges. I don't think it's a MAD, really.

It's interesting, though.

Hey there spruett001, thank you for your comment. May I ask you something, cause I'm rather confused about this. You said you don't think it's a MAD, and I was wondering what would cause that line that splits the rim on the liberty side? And why the rim is fatter on the liberty side, and thinner on the date side? The reverse looks perfectly aligned. I only ask you cause I value your opinion, and am working to understand it correctly. And I thought that if the rim is fatter on one side, but thinner On the other side, that would be considered a misaligned die strike. . . Especially when the reverse is perfectly aligned

It could be a MAD but just slightly - nothing to denote a premium. And lines look like PMD.

I can tell you one thing, it's not PMD. The plantchet was scrapped through debris or was damaged at the upsetting mill at the mint, I know this because there is no way those are scratches, unless someone scraped the penny and re plated it. There are no indication that it has been re plated so there is no way those lines are just scratches. Not PMD. It is misaligned die strike. There is no missing missing copper in those lines. The lines were plated over at the mint.

More of a poor plating issue than than anything else.
