Diameter: 12mm
(mass): 1,75 gram
Material: silver

I found this one in october 2016, while metal detecting.
My finest sceatta!
Obv: Characteristic obverse design of a royal buts with a band of spikes extending from the top and back of the head: degenerates into a mere spiky strip without human face details, and resembles a crude depicton of a porcupine
Rev: CTOTX in square

Ah yes, The porcupine sceatta's were in use during the anglo-saxon/Merovingian era in Northwest Europe. Its name derives from Old English sceatt, meaning "wealth", "money", and "coin". They were minted in France, The Netherlands, near Utrecht and in the South (Zeeland), Danmark and the UK. they were a commonly circulating currency between 650 and 755 in the Frankish realm until the monetary reform of Pepin the Short instituted at Ver in 755.

Wow, great find! I see these don't go cheap either. It is certainly worth it's weight in gold!
Here's one I found which is selling for about $240 USD. 302064759600

PS: Neat coin but when I read "Pepin the Short" for some reason I thought of Beavis and Butthead laughing.
