Got a bunch of coins from my father in law... this smooth round copper coin was one of them...

I could barely see "1937" "TOKEN" and "PENNY". Took a bit of searching to find out it is a Canadian bank token. Very interesting, I never even knew they existed! This one obviously saw a lot of circulation...

Nice pick-up, but I think more likely from 1837 AD. See here for a less worn example on another CCF thread:

Yeah, I meant to type "1837", not "1937". So much for proofreading my posts before hitting "submit"...

This is a 1837 Canada Habitant Penny. Could be from the Bank of Quebec, Bank Du Peuple, Bank of Montreal or City Bank.

I get excited when I see coppers that look this worn as they could be a blacksmith token that were actually made to look heavily worn and can be quite valuable. Sometimes passed off for junk.
Congratulations tho on showing the most worn 1837 Bank Penny I have ever seen.

It could also be a halfpenny. The halfpenny is about 28.2 mm (1 3/16 ") and weighs 9.2 to 9.5 grams.

The penny (deux Sous) is 34.1 mm. (1 3/8 ) and weighs about 19 grams.
