Need larger pics for the RPM issue (looks unlikely), but if that's a die scratch next to the MM it should feel raised to your light finger touch.

Does look like a die scratch, but I see no RPM.

I agree with John1. I am pretty sure that's a Die Scratch next to the Mintmark. I don't see any signs of the Mintmark being repunched.

That coin has been heavily circulated and that makes it hard to tell what's what. I noticed a notch on the D right away but it looked to me like it took a hit.

So -- I spent some time here: http://www.doubleddie.com/1237745.html and I don't see a match.

There is a bit of thickness to the west side of the D that makes me there is a chance the MM got hit more than once, but then it could just as easily taken a beating.

I did see it listed on Wexler's or CONECA listings. (Variety Vista)

Well, obviously at times like this an Eye of the expert is needed, after Coop's diagnosis I do agree with RPM and do see the split lower serif.

There are so many minor RPMs, that not all get listed. CONECA lists the least. (just the strongest) Wexler list more of these. (A lot of minor ones) Coppercoins on cents is halfway in between. That is how the three camps breakdown.

I do now see the notch on this Mintmark, meaning it's a minor RPM. Sorry about earlier. At first, I didn't see the notch because I wasn't looking carefully. If I were you and if you wanted to, send images to John A. Wexler and see what he thinks and says. Send it in if you want to if he needs it in his hands. :)
