I bought this for $60 and I know absolutely nothing about these coins. I mainly bought it because I thought it was kinda neat and because I didn't have a coin that was pre 1800. Did I do okay on the price? Is this one a certain variety? Grade? Thanks.

Regardless of variety it likely worth 10+ times $60. It looks like a genuine and well-preserved piece.

Yep. Did exceptionally well, wish I'da seen that whew! The Red Book lists that one at $150 in G, that one just may get a VG so think a realistic market bid value of $200. I'll give ya $*) for it

Fugio cents were the first coins minted under the authority of the United States. Nice pickup! Yet another coin on my list...

It is a 15-Y, which is a fairly common variety. Nice original looking surfaces, you got a fantastic deal!

It's great to see a score like that. It gives me a reason to keep snooping myself.

If anyone can pick up a (genuine original) Fugio for <$100, in any condition, they did great on the price.
Yours is also referred to as 4 cinqs (cinqefoils - which are those little design elements before and after 'FUGIO' and '1787'). pointed rays, 'STATES UNITED'.
And what lcutler said about it being a 15-Y, means that it's obverse die #15, reverse die Y. There were at least fifty-five varieties from twenty-four obverse dies and thirty-three reverse dies, so there are plenty to choose from.
Congrats on a really nice pick-up!!

That's a beauty alright Great price too. Not sure where you bought it, but not likely ebay, the sharpshooters wouldn't let that go by for $60.

I just sold one that was uglier than that one for $500.00. You got a steal!

Can't do that today with all them cell phones with cameras - people just CAN'T stay out of your business!! Mind your business, not mind your own business. The design of the Fugio is a Rebus. The sundial (time) + Fugio (I fly) + Mind your Business. Mind you business meant tend to your work. So the symbolism in modern terms is "Time flies so get your work done." It wasn't really an admonishment to keep your nose out of other peoples business.
