I am thinking this is a stiff collar error. The area by the right wing of the plane does have a bit of a bump/rise to it and you can see how that area is offset a bit in the last photo as well. I want to get this one labeled correctly and put away in the collection so if someone could verify the type of error here I would greatly appreciate it.

The view angle on the edge shots are looking at the area directly off the right wing, then 90 degrees from that looking from the bottom, and then at 180 degrees from the first shot essentially from the left wing. Middle coin between two regular coins is the one in question.

It looks to fit the description of a stiff collar strike, slightly off-center.

I would call this a collar clash on a partial collar.

Coop, on the middle photo of the three photos of the coin's edge, the right side shows a distinct bulging that I didn't think would occur on a collar clash. My understanding is that a collar clash will not distort the coin since it is on the die and the coin should come out normal shape.

Thanks for the help! I have a nice collar clash in my collection and am hoping this is a stiff collar for a new error for me. So I guess I am trying to make it that and in need of assistance to keep me honest :)

That's my understanding as well. However, the addition of partial collar could change that. What of the off-center part? Also, which face is the hammer die and which is the anvil for this coin? This is outside my experience so, I'd be interested in any explanation.

The off center was caused by the partial collar tilting the planchet. So when the strike happened, the planchet was at an angle and the coin is actually bent.

Which does not sound like collar clash, so are there two things going on here? I still have this sitting here unlabeled as I remain unsure what to put on it. Again, huge thanks to all for your comments and help with this one!

I would say there are two events that happened, but the partial collar caused the collar clash during the strike.
