Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like a very weakly struck Obverse. Could be AU or low 60.

I think most of the lightness showing on the obverse is "drawer wear" .. not really from a drawer, but the side that was down wherever it was kept. The "damage" that seems to show on the Obverse is classic indication of a weak strike, where not enough metal to flow into the deepest parts of the die. That also makes the hair appear worn. Look at the fields .. this hasn't circulated much.

Thank you everyone for your replies. In truth, the scan seems to have effaced all of the hairlines that are apparent in hand. I tried to have my daughter photograph this nickel (and a 1951), but this is what I came up with.
