Coinlover1899, it's very unique. I am wondering if Coop would know what happened to this coin. Very weird coin.

Isn't that one of the ones minted over a Canadian quarter? worth a lot of money in mint condition. I could be wrong, I just heard about those two days ago

Only thing I have in my mind is a possible "Mint Assisted" error, but I doubt it.

IMO there are two situations with this coin. The "spike" is possibly a die crack. All the other marks appear to be die scratches. I don't see any doubling.

I can very easily see your point. It can be something as simple as that. Still a weird thing to happen though.

David, I take it you're in reference to the curved portion NW of lower curve of 5. Consider a struck through of sorts, debris. The shape is that of the 5's leg. It could be a "plug". A greas-fill that fell out and was sequentially stamped onto the coin. Unusual, yes. These "plugs" usually spread out evenly and withe the squeeze pressure dissipate. This maybe the diamond pass/metal dust mix which would be harder than the die even. That would have made a die gouge in a distinctive shape as this. The "pass it on" until next die Polish

Yep, that's right Crazyb0. That was the area I was talking about, the curved thing that looks like the five. I agree that it might be a Dropped Letter from the hard, plugged in Grease that later fell out and got struck into the coin. Basically a Struck Through Debris error.

It doesn't match the curvature of the 5. I'm considering it a strikethrough of some sort, but not necessarily from a die feature.

It's a weird coin though. We will probably never know what it was Struck Through. It's a weird, but interesting coin with a very interesting error.

Thank you Coop for solving this. I wasn't going to buy it anyway, I didn't even want to buy it because the coin was too questionable and I had a feeling that it wasn't what the seller thought it was plus I have no interest in buying it. After making my 40 dollar mistake buying that 2017 P LSC (Lesson learned of course), I am more careful on what I buy now. Since stuff like this is MD, I avoid any coins like this at any cost. This should be a important lesson for all new and experienced collecters.

The forums try to educate everyone, but not everyone visits the forums. Some people have to much money and not enough sense. They jump into something before they know what it is:

It must be a coin collector's right of passage to make a mis purchase(s). Like paying for 'collecting lessons' before learning what to look for.

Just because the seller wants $100 for it doesn't mean someone is going to buy it.
