I found this 1967 dime and 1981 quarter and they have the same marks on the edges of both coins. The marks are right were it says liberty. If anyone has any info on what might have made them like that let me know.

It looks like damage on the quarter. The dime may be a rim Cud or folded Rim Fin.

Can you get closeups?

Thats about as close as I can get it. I'm just wondering how the marks can be in the same exact spot on both coins. And the spots look the same to.

I'm pretty sure it's just coincidence. There's no way the two can really be related being on different denominations and different years.

I see what look like hits on the edge of the quarter that pushed metal inward so, PMD.

The dime is different. Because of the misaligned obverse strike, I think it's a possibility to have a Rim Fin that folded over. Like I said, a rim Cud is also a possibility.

Take a look at the dime's edge in that area to check for any hits/dings that may have affected the rim/face.

That could be solder? If the top layer is flat, they may have machine out the hole and put the dime in there and soldered it in place to keep it from falling out.

A second look/read told me that the rims are what you we looking at. This looks like damage on the rim area.
