Hi folks,
I just recently given these old silver coins. I researched each one and still doubtful that either they're real or fake. These coins were kept for at least 50 years. I'll appreciate any comments and thoughts.

Regards

Sorry, but they are all poor counterfeits.

Not real. Just very poorly made counterfeits. I was able to tell by looking at them the first time.

@alsaclem, while I agree that these are not real, it would be interesting to know if a magnet was attracted to any of your pieces.

You got your money's worth.

Had you actually researched them, you'd know that

A) The 1804 is a great American numismatic rarity, and would be a million-dollar coin if real;

B) The 1844 has a mint mark from a city which did not exist in 1844, much less the mint itself;

C) The Trade dollar is, at best, guilty by association with the company it's keeping.

The real challenge would be filling all of those holes with fakes.

I'd be impressed by a fake Presidential dollar

Please let me know when you see a fake Sacagawea, I've been looking all over for one. After all, you can't have a complete set without a fake or two.

South/Central America will be your best bet for that one.
