E&V, not to get off track of your topic, but you may have to put the microscope camera up onto a book or two in order to get full coin pics. I have to do that with mine. Some will even take full pics of paper currency. As far as your question, I'm in no way skilled enough to answer as of yet.

Thank you for the suggestion Tootallious. I should try that the next time I'm going to post a coin. This is a DDR, just don't know what number it is.

Where are you seeing doubling?

Crazyb0, bay 6 is where the DDR is. It's tilted doubling to the left of the statue on bay 6. I know some might have trouble seeing what I'm seeing, but it's there.

Maybe DDR 29? I can't see But looks kind of close to this one. Check the coin for the die markers that I pointed out

Coppergold, thank you for the information. I will look at it in the morning and look for the die markers that's been pointed out. If it matches, I'll give an update on this post. Update: I think the doubling matches, but the only problem is I can't find the die markers at all. I looked in the correct location and they aren't there. I'll send this to John Wexler.

Bend the shaft of the scope downwards so the scope is closer to the coin, then focus for getting close ups. Top picture is to take a full picture of a cent Middle picture is to view coins for errors, chips, cracks, etc Last picture is to take a close up if you find something. And the plastic view board gets dirty from the coins as you can see I haven't cleaned it latley.

You try a dark piece of fabric under the light. It takes away light glare.
What is your light source?

Quote: You try a dark piece of fabric under the light. It takes away light glare. The scope has adjustable LEDs from bright to completely off. Couldn't you just turn them down or even off and use a different light source?

Thank you Mark for all of the great information and suggestions. The LED lights is adjustable. You can turn it on or off. Still trying to get a hang of it since it's new to me. The only other light source I can use is the light bulb from my lamp. Would that work? Trying to get used to using it. :)
