I haven't seen an S filled as strongly as this one is on the bottom gap of the S. Is this common, or did I find a good one?

It is common and not an error variety.

The punch that made the mint mark for your die was damaged. Thus you see the inside parts of the mint mark looking like that. It is not a RPM. There were probably several other dies that had the same issue as well. So it is common to find them like that. The coin is a copper planchet if your saving them.
