275th Anniversary of Springfield, Mass.
1636-1911
On the obverse at base of the statue it reads: "1595 Anno Domini 1675 Deacon Samuel Chapin One Of The Founders Of Springfield".

This rather large silver plated bronze medal is by Whitehead & Hoag. It measures almost 41 mm in diameter.

Samuel Chapin October 8, 1598 - November 11, 1675 was a prominent early settler of Springfield, Massachusetts.
He served the town as selectman, magistrate and deacon. In the Massachusetts Bay Colony there was little separation between the church and government.
Chapin is best known today as the subject of the Augustus Saint-Gaudens sculpture entitled Deacon Samuel Chapin.

"The Puritan" appears on the obverse of this medal and is a bronze statue completed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1887. It became so popular it was reproduced for over 20 other cities, museums, universities, and private collectors around the world, and later became an official symbol of the city of Springfield, emblazoned on its municipal flag.

Last week I was successful in my attempt to secure two separate lots of trade tokens for a business that I had written about a year ago. At the time, I missed bidding on the 10 cent token offered on ebay however I saved the images.

Earlier this year, I decided to submit the article to the NSCA or National Scrip Collectors of America and was surprised and delighted that it was printed in their journal.

I now have 4 out of the 5 denominations issued and used for this business.

To follow up on the Annie Oakley "mule" error with the reverse of the "Punt Gun" medal, I picked up a correct version to go with Annie Oakley. The Oakley medal in this link shares the same reverse as this medal. I imagine the Oakley medal is quite rare. There were only 4000 of these minted, a number of them were melted in the silver boom of the late 70's and early 80's.
I have never seen another one from this series with the wrong reverse listed or posted on the internet.

Nothing special, picked these up inside Notre Dame last week for 2 euros each, souvenirs for the kids. Must say, I'm not impressed with the quality; I think they're plated aluminum (silver dollar size but very light).

To go along with @TNG's posting of a Springfield MA anniversary medal, here is a 1953-dated token celebrating the centennial of a nearby town: Nashua NH. It looks to me like it may have been a pocket piece for a little while, but there is a small amount of bright plating still visible. The obv reads NASHUA - YOUR ANNIVERSARY CITY OF ACHIEVEMENT AND ADVANCEMENT / MCMLIII while the rev reads 1853 CENTENNIAL 1953 NASHUA / 100
