I see rim Cuds on the left side of the obverse.
What does the edge look like?
Normal in shape or altered?

My first thought is MAD obverse with rim-finning.

Edge is smooth all the way round, but a little thicker near "Liberty" where the rim is folded:

MAD at 5 o'clock strong, rim offset Cuds forming 8:30-10 oclock, could be the die clipped the collar...?

Appreciate your thoughts, Crazy. I'm starting to get a mental image of what happened. I thought it was a pretty cool strike to explore.

Edit: If these '84s have one earlobe they're usually pretty boring in my book.
