I have taken at least a dozen images and I cannot improve with this camera. I will try a different tomorrow when I can borrow one. For now this is the best I can do.

Please take note Brian.. Always show both sides of the coin. Always show the complete coin on both sides. Always take a lot of photos and keep only the clear, bright and sharpest photos for us. ______________ http://www.vickycents.com/id-by-rev-markers.html______________ Please use this link to help you understand how we find the right variety in the 59's.. This is why we ask for complete photos of each coin. All details help us to try and find the variety..and looking at the date is actually one of the last things that we look at..

Thank you gentleman for your guidance on posting better images in my quest to determine which variety of 1859 one cent I have with both of these Coins. I used a different camera for these images. I hope you can work better with them.

Those pics don't even come close enough..all mushy and blurry..almost like a watercolour painting..
So plan B here..
In the "V" of Victoria I see a slanted die crack from the rim to the top right serif..Is it real,..or is it Memorex..?
For the fun of it,..tell me where ALL of the die cracks are on both sides..

Quote: Those pics don't even come close enough..all mushy and blurry..almost like a watercolour painting.. I agree. We do need clearer photos to distinguish markers which will ID the coin. Visit the Haxby Catalog as DEVLEC suggested and you may be able to ID the coins yourself. Just look for die cracks and repunched letters and try to match those to the photos on Dr. Haxby's site. If you can come up with clear photos or "Plan B" (describe all the die cracks) we'll try to help you out.

Thank you. I will check out the Dr. Haxby website. I am also going to try to take better images using my GoPro. The images I have put up are from an iPhone.

One one of the Coins I can see one very prevalent detail. I'm the word Cent the T is missing half of the horizontal line going across the T making it look almost like an upside down L.

photo's can be tricky without a decent camera. I use my phone to take pics, its an LG G5 and its pretty amazing. I hear most current mobile phones have solid camera's but apparently the best one on the market is the Google Pixel 2. I tossed my old kind of expensive digital camera for my phone camera. technology has come a long way in a short period of time.
