Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 12/03/2017 9:56 pm I have a question for the Kennedy half collectors out there! I have one that is missing the bottom half of the E as it doesn't go all the way to the scalp. The right downward extension of the letter R appears to be weakly struck and it is missing the part of the hair that forms into the R. This silver half dollar is not a product of Die Deterioration and all of the obverse lettering is strong. The back stamping is equally strong. Every part of this coin I appears to be well struck except for what I have mentioned. If this coin is so well struck then why are these letters in the word Liberty missing? Sounds like it could be a Grease Struck Through that caused it, but without pictures, it's impossible to tell. Errers and Varietys.
