I'll ask a mod to move this to a forum where it will get more attention. It certainly looks like an error coin to me.

Actually, it's both! Struck off-centre, almost broadstruck, but with a partial collar

Thanks SPP. Does this make it more valuable? I'm finding hard to find anything for a direct comparison. It seems a little more exaggerated than the one other similar example I've been able to find.

IMHO it should be worth at least $200 or so due to $2 Partial collar errors being so rarely found. If the condition is really nice with no dings or severe damage, price might be higher.

I'm not familiar with the value of error coins -- other than US coins and the prices are all over the place. Find the right customer and you could get a great price. Meanwhile, keep it safe. As Nevol posted, damage will lower the value. Handle it by the edges. Fingerprints will show up. Since you found this coin -- maybe you plan on keeping it -- and in no time at all you'll be hooked on the hobby. If you sold it, you might regret it. So take your time.

It's funny you say that Buddy. I found a pre decimal coin in my change which I've held onto that started my interest in coins. That led me to noticing this. I'm in a unique position to noodle as I work for a company thatprocesses 30-50 k change weekly. I have been collecting lots of colour $2 and commemorative 50 cent coins but looking at posts on this site I've probably been missing the truly valuable ones... thanks again for the help.

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I found a coin with similar features to chuckbass. I noticed that the post was moved. Can someone send me a link to the new location?
Thanks!
