I just bought this little gal online for $67 dollars, I should have her next week. Thoughts on a details grade? The reverse is not too shabby; however, the scratch on the obverse ,which underlines Liberty and the stars on the right, is upsetting  I have this coin tentatively noted as Overton 117 pointed 6 wth stem. VF details scratched and damaged. Great buy for $67.

I think this would pull of a Genuine grade. The obverse and reverse have very different conflicting details.

Studying the past coin auctions for this Overton it seems that the obverse is very mushy with a stronger reverse. here's one that graded VG 10 by PCGS

Regardless of grade, it's damaged, which you know. If $67 is what you have to spend on this type, that is justified.
If you continue to grow with your collection there may come a time when this will have to go.

Good comparison. Price was OK (not a bargain, to me) for a defaced coin. If you're happy with it, that's what matters.

https://coins.ha.com/itm/early-half...Lot=1x=0&y=0Ok after a little more research I think it's Overton 117a I'm not too sure what the significance of the "a" is however all I know is that this coin looks exactly like the one listed in this auction unfortunately there's only one other coin to compare it to. Yes I'm happy with it, I do not have one of these and on ebay they wanted $100+ for coins that are a lot worse than this one. It will hold me over until I can afford a nicer one.

From your additional comments you are approaching the challenge of nailing down a few older coins. Best of luck to you finding what you like.
