Looks like some over polishing on the date side of the on that area. The polishing may have been done to cover maybe feeder finger die damage? (Be a first for me me on an obverse) the TY maybe also die damage? But the TY does look different.

Good eye there cwb
I recall recently seeing quite a few struck through rim burr posts, but I cannot ever recall seeing a struck through die chip. Where do the die chips go, do they pop off and fly away

The chips either fall of the die and leave a void like we are seeing on this coin. Sometimes the metal is imbedded into the coin. (Making that area metallic) sometimes areas look like this are from split plating or caused by gas underneath the plating. But these can be pressed downwards with a toothpick.

The images are interesting. But nothing I can do with them. Nothing is working for me now. I can't save them, edit them, post to my image host or post them here. Those all died with my computer. The new computer is more of something I can have wallpaper on so far. None of my previous software works......

You are running Windows 7 Pro on the new computer, right?

Have you checked to see if the version you are using is updated?

Still can't get online yet. I see the wifi selection, it just doesn't accept the password. Next going to try a different wireless add on to the computer. The pro model doesn't have wifi internally. Getting one that will have a disk.

It's been a while since I had these problems, but it seems to me that some of the software for wireless connections will not work properly because of an issue with Windows software. The two fight each other, so to speak, over which one controls the connection. You need to disable one of them.
Wireless connection issues can number in the kabillions, I hope you get it going soon.
