That might be part of the design? Bottom of the bow on hair tie and the bottom of the collar of the jacket. The die is aging and considering coin wear, that make be the issue?
Rest in Peace

, aging die. Notice on all elements on right side, an indented ridge is beggining to form along the hair and under the letter bottoms. Die Deterioration of some sort as a die face raised ridge? The effects of a major elements breaking down?

Looking at the middle picture. The right top arrow shows a"leg" moving east from the pony tail that is recessed. This is due to Die Deterioration?

Thinking some rubbing or attempt at cleaning the coins surface has left behind staining or toning along the design edges and in the recessed areas. Thanks, Doug.
