Hello to everyone. As coins have always been out of my reach financially I have only a meagre amount of coins found over the years. A death in the family has resulted in some coins shared to a few family members. And so I find myself here. Part of my journey in deciding what to do, mind my daughters will get a few this christmas. Merry christmas to all.

Thank you for your warm welcomes. In deciding what I intend to do with these coins and notes I thought I'd dig out my old jar of 1 and 2 cent coins (Australian) to help me decide whether I still had a bug from when I was a kid. Stamps were easier because they were free (on envelopes) so that was my main project. My coin collection never amounted to much and every now and then when things weren't going so good it would eventually be hit. Last time was only a few months ago and that took all but a few - worst was the loss of all my 50 cent coins I had NEVER touched before... not many survived - the only untouched was the 1970s Cook coins (and of course Mr Round!). That's happened, can't change it. The irony though, having 'played' with my lower denominations, I now Really miss the 50c as I'm starting to enjoy numit... numiss... muni.. you know what I mean. Have already found a 1967 2c missing 'SD' to boot! Some of the coins passed down make it difficult not to get interested either. One particular item took my interest as the certificate stated only 1,000 to be struck. On-line searches have only given me the set of 8 which doesn't include the 1,000 Rupees. So after all that build up... what I have become the lucky owner of is the (9 set) Seychelles Independence set of 1976. How can one not get interested in numismatics! ps. I believe I will have some questions and again thanks to all! pps. thanks john1
