I found this in a circulated bank roll from a bank box of U.S. Pennies. This Die Chip is pretty big and I'm keeping it because I have never found one on a 1973 Lincoln Cent before. It is a very interesting Die Chip.

If you are talking about the B in LIBERTY, it looks like a bit with misplaced metal rather than a die chip.

Moxking, that area is raised, but worn down from circulation. I looked flat on the edge and it's raised. It's weird because it looks like a Die Chip.

Actually that is from a broken die post. The post makes the center part of the closed devices. When this breaks off, center part of the device no longer forms. The reason it is taller than the device is that part of the dies base broke off were the post was connected. Now that void on the die is taller than the device on the coin.

It probably should be put into an image for educational purposes. I would do that, but still without a computer.

Is there a site where these are cataloged, like Wexler's? I have many Lincolns with broken posts in the date, Liberty. Would like to attribute and put some sort of identifier on the flip, but I haven't found any place that does it, not even COC.
