This 1983 penny has two die cracks at the bottom corners of the memorial extending to the rim. Doubling at the right side of the memorial building, especially the bottom right on the memorial. Letters are doubled and in my opinion are not steps as they are doubled at the top of the letters and not the bottom creating a step look. Opinions PLEASE! I apologize in advance for the IOS photos as no matter what I do they will not orientate properly!
Not a DDR. I see MD ( Machine Doubling) and maybe Die Deterioration Doubling. A real Doubled Die would show enlargement of the devices, extra thickness, notching of the devices, and separation lines. Also for a Doubled Die, you would have to looks for the die markers and correctly match them.
@John1, I have tried everything using my iPhone to do that. It's more aggravating for me than you know but that is the only thing I have to post pics. I am sorry.
I don't think that conflabbit 83 DDR exists. Yesterday I went through about 10 tubes of 83s I'd set aside, closest I got was one with heavy MD on the reverse that I'm going to call my poor man's 83 DDR. Don't forget to weigh them, some copper planchettes snuck their way through.
