@coop, is it conceivable that the die chip from the top die fell down onto the surface of the bottom die in between pressings and caused the second die chip? I'm thinking no, because of the difference in hardness between the tool steel of the die and the copper of the planchet. Rather, a die chip remaining in place on the lower die seemingly would just show up as a strike through in the next planchet, right?
