1971 D Kennedy half dollar silver clad. Hey everyone I'm needing some help confirming what I have os silver or not. I am new to the forum and new to coins. The coin I have more and more seems to indeed be silver. Here are some of the details. The coin weighs 11.22 and its rim is clad. I pinged tested from a free app, tissue paper, magnet slide, and my girl's makeup skin silver test. All of the ameture tests are saying its silver. It also looks like there may be a rim error on this coin as as well. Any help is appreciated.

I tried a tissue test as well. The coin looks lighter than the '81 or others I tried under the tissue.

@PJ77, first welcome to CCF. Second, if the rim shows evidence of a copper layer, what makes you think that the coin is silver?

Sometimes it takes a while to get familiar with coins. If you can post your questions with photos we will be able to help you more.

There is an auction I was just looking at for a 1971 half struck on a 40% silver plamchet, the weight listed was 11.3 grams. Would be interesting to see pictures of this one.

Help-With-My-1971-D-Silver-Clad-Kennedy-Half-Doll

Copper clad in middle tube 40 silver clad in both outer tubes. Typically no but you can on some coins see traces of copper on edge-can a '71 D silver clad exist? Why not anythings possible-but pics would help, of the edge too
