So ive looked everywhere to find out info on my $20 star note.It seems to be misprinted. I joined the army and got out and found the long lost 20 bucks in one of my heavy metal books 8 years later.
FOR some reason I couldn't crop the photos the right way so you could see the full pictures. But my question is should I go out and get gas in my car or should I hold on to it and sell it?

Looks like a star bill and in good condition. But depending on how common they might be better spent. Your image reminded me of a bill I edted a few years ago:

Seems the cut is close to the edge. I've not looked up currency in sometime now. So would need to research a bit on serial numbers. Star represents a replacement note.

At this time I couldn't say or not if this was from a full sheet or issued from the Treasury precut. Sometimes full sheets went out and owner(s) could cut there own out. Thanks, Doug.

I always thought star notes were issues in place of notes that weren't fit to be issued due to mistakes or errors, so if that is so, a star note ALSO having issues or errors would be sweet to keep.

The bill shows some misalignment but not enough to be worth anything extra. As well, modern star notes don't sell for a premium. But, that's not to say they're not fun to collect. And, thanks for serving our country for so long.
