Fake or not? Obverse is worn and have a punch near left rim, but reverse is good. Any value if not a counterfeit?

I find it surprising that you would have found an 1873 coin in such good condition, so I can't believe that it would be real. Of course I'm no where near experienced enough to give you a solid opinion. Would you mind telling me where you got it? It might help me determine if it's genuine.
Assuming that it's real, it could be worth $35.00 U.S., or at least around that number.
It looks pretty real though.

Unfortunately itīs an auction photo so I canīt help with better pics. A VF20 one, according to usacoinsbook, worth US$ 41, but I donīt know how to grade it.

The pictures are crude and blurry and grading is hard but from what I do see, this coin in the given state, assuming it's authentic would grade easily in XF45-AU50 range (also assuming it hasn't been cleaned or gets details for damage).

This is totally the last coin anyone would counterfeit. Even the Chinese don't care about 3c nickels. I vote real.

Looks to be genuine, circulated (VF condition?), cleaned, and with obverse and reverse rim damage.

Quote: This is totally the last coin anyone would counterfeit. I have several different 'Copies' of Three Cent pieces though none of them very good. It is real. Appears to be the less desirable 'Open 3' variety but need better picture. Condition is better than VF. I would grade it XF because of the presence of beads on the cornet and veins in the leaves on the reverse. The flattened hair and center of the 'III' is caused from die clashing/filling. The rim dings are not terrible. I like it.

Is it just me, or is the weirdest 1873 three-cent piece?
I suspect a new member does not know that any image with the same file name uploaded on the same day will replace any previously uploaded image.
