Hi members,

I have a 1949 Wheat penny with some errors. On the back of the penny there is a hole near the T, also on the right side of the wheat leave there is an error on the top and bottom. Please review and respond with some information in reference to this Wheat penny. Thank you.

Mara

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention.

That doesn't look like an error, more likely PMD after it left the mint. Can we see the obverse?

Hello,

Thank you for moving my post. Here is the obverse for the 1949 Wheat penny. Next time I will try to crop my pictures, I just started to learn how to download the pictures. Thank you.

Looks like someone took a punch and made that hole on the reverse. You can see where that caused a slight bump on the obverse at Lincoln's chin. The other marks look like damage while in circulation.

The metal movement on the reverse and the raised areas on the obverse tell me this was added to the coin later in life. Not a mint error, PSD (post-Strike-Damaged)
