DGS Grades over 625 Coins in the First 3 Weeks of Operation
Early Goals Have Been Exceeded, Signature Series Graders Added

{Virginia Beach, VA.} Dominion Grading Service (DGS) announced today that their initial operations goals have been exceeded in the first month. According to John Feigenbaum, President, "as of May 20, we have graded 638 coins and met our goals in many other areas as well, including our software which provides email updates to submitters as orders reach various stages of the submission process. The web site offers similar features, including the ability to view any coin slabbed and valued over $100 (a feature we call AuthentiView™)."

Signature Series Graders Added
In our first month of operations, DGS solidified Signature Series grader agreements with: Rick Snow ( Indian cents); Jim McGuigan (early U.S. coinage); Bill Bugert ( Seated half dollars); and John Feigenbaum will perform this service for Barber coinage and Washington quarters, upon request.

DGS was very excited to receive its first Signature Series submission which included several rare large cent varieties, and a sharp example of the very rare 1802 Half Dime (DGS XF40 Slightly Bent, Light Graffiti), which has a pedigree back to the Buddy Ebsen collection and is valued over $100,000. Jim McGuigan — a renowned specialist in U.S. Bust coinage — graded and authenticated this important coin. His opinion was verified by three other graders at DGS.

"In an additional effort to show transparency, we are adding the letter 'D' to the serial number of all coins submitted by DLRC. In this manner collectors can judge for themselves whether we been careless in grading our own material."

That is a good way to demonstrate impartiality

625 coins in 3 weeks early goals exceeded? Must have been some LOW goals. PCGS and NGC do 100,000 to 150,000 coins a month, DGS is on track to do 800 coins a month. Still if they are ever able to get past most plastic collectors "If it ain't PCGS or NGC it ain't nothin." bias they might do OK.
Rest in Peace

Condor, I don't think anyone on this forum (nor any other forum for that matter) has more knowledge on TPGs than you. Thus, I would pose this question to you: given that DGS appears to be that rare genuine attempt to honestly grade and slab coins at the level of (and perhaps to compete with) the established top TPGs (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG), how would you approach the dilemma DGS faces as a newcomer in a market rife with fake and self-serving boiler-room slabbers? What would be your market and public relations approach? Presume that money IS a consideration, e.g., only $100K per month is available for salaries, rent and other logistic overhead, promotion, and whatever else is necessary for a start-up company.

I may mind they will have to grade better than ICG,most of the folk here can grade better than ICG
We all will have chance to grade them when there back I plan just posting the coins and you all can grade them before I show the DCG grades.
