I love that one Tootallious. Definitely rare to see a Clipped Planchet on a Kennedy half. Nice find!

Nickel on a cent planchet: 1960D-1MM-004: Bought this one, only one I've seen for sale. While playing a hunch, I wondered if the doubling on the 2004 DDRs could happen other years. After searching other years on this area found this one: Discovery coin I found 2002D-1DR-001 http://doubleddie.com/839139.html2002-D 1¢ WDDR-002 "Best Of" Variety Description: A nice spread to the west shows on the left side of EPU and the left dots. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge can be found south of the first 2 in the date. Reverse: A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower you in UNITED. A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower L in PLURIBUS. A die gouge can be found above the upper left dot. Die pitting can be found above the end of the left Memorial base. A die gouge can be found in the upper first bay. Submitted By: Richard CooperCross References: Coppercoins: 2002D-1DR-001

I've been looking for that 2002 D coop. That's about all I look at on them. Cool find.

You all may have seen this one from last March. Found this lying on the ground next to a CoinStar machine at a neighboring city supermarket... how and why someone gold plated it is still a mystery.

John77, that's an excellent find! I love that one. Pretty weird that someone gold plated it. Still a great find.

Thanks, Errers and Varietys. I was in shock when I picked it up and saw what it was. I took it my LCS and they wondered the same thing about the gold plating... Hard to believe it's only my second-best ever CoinStar find.

You're very welcome. It is pretty shocking to find stuff like this out in the wild. CoinStar can be a very good place for error coins, especially when it gets rejected in the change slot.
