The pics are quite dark, I cannot tell if any wheat lines show at all. If there is any separation of the wheat lines, I would go VG-8...As it looks from these pics I have to say G-4. The cheek , jaw, and ear also look flat in the pics- any detail that might not be showing could also bring it up to a VG grade. It looks like a well struck example with very even wear and color, with no distracting marks- nice pickup !

Try tweaking the brightness and contrast a bit, it should bring out some more of the details for grading. It looks like it is in a holder, so getting better pics will be tricky.

Pics not too good, but it looks about VG to me, I think I see some wheatlines. You can polish the slab with some of the stuff used for car headlight covers, then take some better pics, it would help us in grading.

OK, QX5 to the rescue.....sorta. These are the best I could do, all the pics I tried to take with my camera adding more light just got washed out.

G6-VG8.
My 1914-D is an F-12 (ANACS).

Here's some pics for comparison. Reverse was before submission.

I'd agree with a VG-8 details grade. Does anyone else think this coin has a slightly corroded look? The color looks very dark (even taking into account the underexposure) and the surfaces seem a bit granular.

I'd like to see a QX-5 close-up of the date and mintmark. The shape of the mintmark is very important for confirming authenticity and a good photo could be educational.

I'm still waiting to pick up a '14-D; it's a nice coin in any grade.
