Hello!
Please help me with an identification of Japanese coin 5 Sen 1871.
it is 53 rays variety, but the weight is 1,45 g. instead of 1,25 g., as well as the diameter is 15,66 mm. instead of 16,2 mm.
Is it possible?
My scales is very accurate, btw.

Nice coin.

I don't see any indication that it's a fake; perhaps the stock for the planchet was too thick? Recall that just two years prior to the striking of this coin, Japan's mint workers were making cast and hammered coinage--small anomalies are fairly common in the 1870-71 series.

Early Japanese coins are known to have some weight variance. I unfortunately do not have the weight of the 5 sen coin for both of my examples (missed them somehow).

But yes, it just seems to be overweight for this type of coin.
