Ahhh, nope. All is Machine Damage (MD), the dies bounce a bit if loose at the strike causing a shift and reduction in device size. Value is...25 cents! At least for today...

That's just one spot there are many more on both sides in all the lettering.. seems unusual

Looks like a very worn die that is breaking down. It was normal when the die was young, but like most of us here, not everything works like it used to. Same for this die.
