Hey coin collectors. I have a 2017p Nickel that looks like it has two colors. Is this something normal or is this just a dirty nickel?

Thanks John... I also have this 1957 silver dime. You know anything about this 1957 dime? I know it's silver but it looks if it may be a DD As well. What you think?

You're showing a '16P, not a '17, but it doesn't matter. They both look
normal, to me. Dont let this discourage you from hunting, there's a ton
of legitimate errors out there, waiting to be found.

Coins get coated with all kinds of stuff out there. That will alter the color. Not the mints fault. Even the air in some areas will turn coins yellow if there is an issue of sulfur in the air. Imagine what it does to the lungs?

On the first image of this thread, what did I notice first? The weakness of the Jaw and the 'L' on LIBERTY. Note how the die polishing took away the line on the jaw and the to loop of the 'L'. That is what caught my eye first.

Do you think it's worth getting it appraised or is it just normal?

Nope. Just spendable change. Grading is kind if like owning a car. If a car costs more to fix than it is worth, then is it worth fixing. It is hard to spend $5,000 on a car that is only worth $3,000. So if you have a coin graded that is only worth 5 cents, and it costs you more than that to have it graded, what is the bottom number. I figure it has to be worth more than $100 before I would have a coin graded. Some to it and later find out it was the wrong decision. On time I bought a 1945 cent that was graded at a coin store. it was a BU, the price? $6. Someone took a beating on that coin. The coin store probably gave him even less than I paid for it. So grading can be a good deal or a bad deal.

Ok now this 1968 Nickel looks really different to me and the color of it. It's an old nickel with the wording and date are very clear and bold. What are y'all thoughts?

It may have come out of a mint set. They are pretty cheap. Just looked at one on ebay for $6+ for both mints Philly and Denver all coins in cello.
