What happened, SilverDollar2017? You changed up the coin while I was posting. This dime sure is a lot prettier. Looks ok to me. I'd sure like to own it, cleaned or not.

Quote: Looks like a high grade cent with no luster and slightly irregular tone; also, no dirt. I'd say cleaned. Where are you seeing a cent? All I see is a Mercury dime.

Quote: Yes, that is fine. It would be nice if you posted a link to where you found the coin when you reveal the full slab, like I did with the one I posted above. I'll make sure to do that. Quote:Where are you seeing a cent? All I see is a Mercury dime. I had originally posted a large cent, but the pics were so small I updated the post with large images of a Mercury dime.

Doesn't look like a details coin to me.

I don't see anything on the Merc that makes me suspicious. I'll say straight and probably be wrong again.

I have a coin I'd like to enter in the game, if that's ok. I'll wait until tomorrow evening and SilverDollar2017 gives us the results. (I'd like to know the price tag on that beauty, too- 5 figures?)

Quote: PCGS Genuine Cleaning - AU Details Looks like the graders at PCGS were having a bad day - I just can't see the cleaning.

From Heritage description: Quote:Hairlines on each side betray an old cleaning, although this borderline Uncirculated 1916-D Mercury dime still has pleasing satin luster and a faint hint of light golden toning.

I'll take that dime anytime. Here's the next coin. As a bonus, see if you can guess if the graders thought it was AU or Unc. (I'll post the results and the link tomorrow.)

Quote: I'd like to know the price tag on that beauty, too- 5 figures? I looked it up - it's an ongoing auction, current bid is $2,600. As to your half dollar, I have absolutely no idea, but let's have a try - straight graded AU.

Straight graded. Just to be different, I'll say MS.
