Hello,

This ebay seller is selling a coin on ebay for almost $7 million (why would anyone even sell such a valuable coin on ebay?) and has only 726 feedback. I'm quite the opposite of an expert when it comes to grading, but this coin doesn't look MS-62 to me. Also selling another early dollar (1798). Could this be a real coin?

And here are the images to the other one.

Note the thing that alarms me the most is the price of the first coin, I mean could anyone seriously try to sell something on ebay for almost 7 million dollars?

EDIT: The date on the 1798 dollar is also really suspect looking (but again, I've never seen an early dollar in person so I'm not an expert)

Looks alright to me. I'd assume he's a rare coin dealer.

But if it's real then why, why is he selling it on eBay?! Shouldn't he approach an auction house instead?

What is the easiest way to advertise for free that you have a rare coin?

Put it on ebay with an unrealistic price!

I'm sorry if you're thinking I'm doing free advertising for this seller... I just thought that it was a possible fake and wanted to prevent people from selling fakes on ebay...

As to the post with the description, I just thought it was funny...

EDIT: I've deleted the links, hopefully no more people will see it this way.

I'm not accusing you of anything. The seller of the coin posted a super high price as a form of free advertising via ebay. More people will see it and if someone can afford it then they will contact the seller and probably sell it outside of ebay at a much more reasonable price.

Oh okay, sorry for my misunderstanding then.

View all seller's items and sort price highest to lowest. Wow. Pages of 5-6 figure items, and from a quick sampling, all priced double what PCGS price guide says.

Even if I had 7 million dollars, I wouldn't buy it. The only place where I would spend above $1,000 is a major auction. Not ebay.

first off there are 5 graded at NGC at that grade, at best this is a $70,000 coin based on past sales. Second if all he is trying to do is drum up interest and "talk" about his very rare dollar, this is a great way to do it for free. I agree with all the previous posters who
stated they would not be buying or selling a coin like this on ebay

Is it normal for the 1795 to be so off-center? And I find it weird that the listing for the 1798 doesn't show or even mention the NGC certification number.
