I found this in a OBW BU roll of 2014 LSC's. This error stood out to my eye immediately as it was easily visible. Very cool
error coin! Definitely not a common occurrence!

Thank you Tunnioc! It's a great example from a OBW BU ebay roll. Don't worry, it's in a 2x2 coin flip for protection.

Very cool. I always thought a rim bur was a jagged piece of metal that was left hanging from the blanking process. This appears to be a rim fragment that was shaved off when the coin went into the chamber and was present during the striking of the cent. To me it also appears that this struck through is retained with the zinc exposed on the struck through portion. Still Lookin

Thank you still lookin! This way was very cool find. It's a Retained Struck Through because of the exposed Zinc. Very unsual error coin.

It looks like it came off before the strike. Is there an incuse mark there, or is it flat showing the zinc color. If it is flat, then metal moved and the zinc is on top of the coin. There looks like some MD happened after the strike. (note the second image)

Coop, I looked again very closely and it looks flat and not incused into the surface.

So it just flattened during the strike. Turned into powder.

Willburton, no, I haven't found that DDO yet with the Die Chip in the 4 of the date as the die markers. Hopefully, I'll find it someday. The funny thing is this Struck Through is the only good thing I've found in the 2014 P BU roll.

Thank you Harley! You have been finding great stuff as well! I really liked that 1984 Doubled Ear DDO you found. I have that one too.
