*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***This is an 1895 O Morgan dollar. It is in excellent condition (to me anyway). Can someone take a look and let me know what grade this is in? PLEASE help! I want to get a ballpark on the worth before I take it in. I know this isn't an exciting post, but I would appreciate the help! I know they are worth $300-$14,957 to $165,888 or more in uncirculated mint condition. (which I know mine is not uncirculated lol) Photos are apparently horrible and I apologize. I will take better ones in the morning with natural light! Thank you! Condition is pretty bad - first you have to prove it's real. Others can confirm that.

I'm not a professional, but the two thirds hair line from top of forehead, I'm not seeing. Ear seems defined okay. Don't see where it would fit into the VF20 category. Looks as if cleaned with an abrasive. Possible "good category". Maybe I'm completely wrong.

CJ18850 thanks for the response...I'm not sure if they are horrible pictures that I took with my phone or what. It looks much better in person!

@BAE212, first welcome to CCF. Second, could you please post the weight and diameter of your coin?

38.1mm. I'm not sure on weight. I don't have anything to weigh it. Thickness was approx 2.3-2.4 (I'm not too great at this)

Thank you jbuck, I appreciate you moving the post! This is overwhelming knowing where to go, what to ask, and the proper way to take photos of coins apparently!

Appears authentic to me ... but not an expert on this series.
The grade is F/VF range ... low VF that is.
I assume you want to know how much this coin is worth ... to sell grandpa old coin?
More than face value for sure if authentic.

Crumps. It's like the tale of two picture sets. The first make it look like it's damaged from chemicals. Almost like a shipwrecked effect. The second are more palatable. If it I grades straight I would say vg-8, tops.

From the original pics it looks like it was cleaned with acid. The other pics make it look better.
Looks authentic. VG-10
