My word... that is one ugly coin. How sad!

This is my 1936-D also graded MS-65 by PCGS. If I had seen the auction on the one in this thread, I would have bought it and thrown mine in the garbage can

Wait a minute. Just to clarify, you're saying you would have bought the one listed here on ebay and threw your 36-D MS65 in the trash? Really? Can you expand on that reasoning?
Rest in Peace

Improper storage surely played a part in this coin's demise.

Chemical residue, hot and cold temp cycling and a little bit of humidity can play heck with a coin.

Thanks westernsky. When I first saw a slabbed coin all I could think about was protecting it from a fire because the plastic would destroy the coin. Then I thought I had read that they are not air tight -- couldn't remember for sure.

I was joking, but I guess that didn't come through The original posted coin looks nasty. It looks clean as far as marks go, but terrible eye appeal.

Am I the only one that thinks it could just be a terrible scan or photo? Believe me if it looks like that in hand that would be awful.

USSID18, I did not realize that the 36-D was one of the ones you are actively looking for. Now I feel like I may have come across as a bit of a jerk with my sarcasm. That was not at all the intent. My sincere apologies.

If well circulated is ok, I will mail you a 36-D for free as an apology.

That never crossed my mind. I don't think so.

Two day left in the biding, no takers yet.
