Im trying to train the eye what to look for right off the bat. My led light on my googles shine a certain way on tips of letters and show weird letters and numbers behind others. Sometimes I think I'm going nutz!
I see pretty much a normal coin from the images provided. Very slight die movement. MD. If it were hub doubling, with you seeing that area above the motto area, it is were a doubled die, you would probably not have created this thread.
Time to open the class room on this thread a bit. The example posted above is a VLDS die state example. Note the heavy flow lines towards the rim. So what would this doubled look like in an earlier die state? So what does that mean? The die aging process shows that the die made a full run of coins for this doubled die. So you will find all die states out there. So if you are buying a coin choose the better die state coins. Those in the future will be a better investment. The grading companies don't look for die states when they slab a coin, but a true investor will look for the better die states. Eventually you will be happier in the long run when you go to sell your coins.
