1945-D 10c, Question? Does This Look Like A Repunched Mint Mark / RPM ?

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/07/2018 3:05 pm Looks more like damage. The area on the right side if it show a strong incuse mark on the mint mark. The area below the mint mark looks like where the mint mark was and now pushed back a bit. If this were a RPM, I would expect to see the same thing on the inside of the mint mark at the top of that area like the lower area. Like this, but note if it were a RPM, it would be raised and not flattened like your coin is. Hope this helps? Report this Post to the Staff

Is there RPMD (repunched mint mark deterioration )? The flattening of devices can possibly be caused by being a well circulated coin?
