Bandsdean.... Yes, I cherry picked it in a bulk lot of full date Buffalo nickels. Over the years I've bought bags of "searched" Buffalos at coin shows and from dealers. In the past 15 years I've found 18/17's, 37-D 3-leggers, 36-D 3 1/2 leggers and 35-P DDR's. Sometimes I find something, sometimes I don't. It keeps me busy and off the streets. I still enjoy the hunt but not near as much as I used to. Edited by westernsky

To me, the only thing keeping it from being a "no doubt" VG8 is the condition of the date, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the rest of the coin's strengths, notably the strong motto, strong legend and almost full LIBERTY, carried it to VG8. Are you planning on having it graded?

Steev.... Yes....I will have it TPG'd when I get enough stuff to send in. I think it might grade VG on Friday afternoon at 4:45. If it grades Monday through Friday noon it would probably get the G-6 as most have graded it at so far. I think there are no concerns with it being in a "clean" holder....unlike the last 18/17 I sent in! |

G6 and like you said, may get a VG if the 2 of 3 graders are hurrying off to a party or something!

Thanks for the comments and opinions everyone. I really appreciate it! This one will be off for TPG'ing in either April or May .....or as soon as I can dig up some other stuff to send in with it. I will post the results as soon as I see them. |
