It is either a rim Cud or a folded-over Rim Fin. I'm not good at distinguishing between the two, but I'll go with rim Cud on this one. It is a bit different from a full-on Cud in that it does not enter the coin's field and the die break is restricted to the rim step-down only.

Looks to me like a folded over Rim Fin. There is finning shown from 11 o'clock to two o'clock and foldovers/smashed in that area. With the way the details are filled in on the reverse letters, there was an off angle pressure difference (tilted die, higher pressure strike) that caused a large fin.

I think it is both,a rim Cud as well as having a Rim Fin. John1

Thank you all! I assume there isn't any premium for this one? I was thinking about submitting it to the Cuds On Coins site, but I don't know if it'd count since some believe it to be a Rim Fin.

I sent a note to Mike Diamond on this one. With the Cud already there, could that area that looks irregular on the rim be part of the outside of the die on the step down area be also chipping out, making the irregular rim on this nickel? (12:00-3:30)

The area in question seems to fill in above the actual design rim. Thinking possible rim Cud on obverse at 11:00. Unable to see the whole coin, which is needed to verify die alignment. Thanks, Doug.

Nice find! It's a Rim Cud with a Finned Rim. Definitely worth keeping in a 2x2.

Can you clarify if there is or is not a flat spot on the coins edge at the location of the potential rim Cud? At first it didn't seem like it, but after looking again and again at the edge images my eyes are starting to play tricks on me. Thanks, Doug.

Errers and Varietys, thank you so much! <3
Halo1st, After looking under the microscope a good while, I still can't tell if the edge is flat. I'd more bet on it being sort of tapered and bumpy/rocky/dented.
